Part out Scion FRS with Vortech supercharger?
Would it be easy to remove the supercharger and change it back to stock? Worth it?

I just removed my Vortech last week. It's pretty easy to uninstall. The hardest part was taking off the front bumper. lol
The only reason I returned my car to stock is bc I bought an Evo. That and I need to get my valve springs repaired.

If you have the parts then go back to stock and sell what you take off. You will make back at least a little of your money. Be lucky to make anything back on the built car.

What year on the Evo? Can you compare the Evo to your boosted 86? I'm looking at Evo's too.

Evo X. I love it. But I still love the FRS. They are completely different cars dynamically.

Be sure to to go back to stock injectors if you had larger injectors.

The X was the first Evo that they allowed to be sold in Canada and I almost pulled the trigger on a GSR about 3 times. That was back when I was driving almost 50K a year though so I could not justify the operating costs.

It's just a lot cheaper to tune and manage the Evo. Intake, Turbo back exhaust, 3 port boost controller, injectors, fuel pump and dual map tune on e85 will put you at ~380-390whp. I spent like $3.5k to get there. I spent almost $10k to make 312whp on the frs. That and stock engine components are good to 500whp. And transmission is good to 800+whp for the manual. It's a very robustly built car.

But yeah, I think it handles better than the FRS. It's stupid quick at autocross. Mitsu did a good job with the S-AWC. The car rotates like crazy when you think it shouldn't. That being said, the FRS is just so pure in the form it's in. Every time I hop back in, I just feel more connected to the road. But I have more fun driving in the evo because everything about it feels so raw and to the point. It doesn't care about your comfort, only performance.
