The compressor is attached to a pressure sensor (that grey box) and kicks on automatically at ~110 PSI, and cuts off at 150. It's an overpowered compressor for this application, considering the size of the tank (2 gallons) so that takes less than a minute. It takes about 3-4 blasts similar to the ones you heard in the video to discharge the tank enough to trigger the compressor. I also have switches in the cabin. One of them toggles between the stock and train horns, and the other controls power to the compressor/sensor/solenoid, so the compressor won't run at all unless it's turned on. Those switches are keyed to accessory power, so they shut off automatically when the car is off.

As for noise, in normal driving, it's basically impossible to tell if the compressor is running unless you come to a stop, and then flip it off and on while listening carefully, lol. But I do have a sheet of sound deadening material that I slid behind the carpeting of the rear seats to isolate all of the road noise from the trunk area, so I'm sure that's helping to mute it.

Lol. Not REALLY. There is no hard limit in most states (at least the ones I've lived in), but there is a very vague "the horn must not be unreasonably loud" phrase in most states' codes. However, since people tend to ignore normal horns, I consider mine to be reasonable! :P

Lol. I'm not one of those assholes who drives around pranking everyone. Other than actual normal horn duty, I only honk them as a party trick (or if it's someone I know, lol.)

Does the horn create enough pressure to push the car backward? While on throttle?
