Painting oil cooler

Hi y’all,

I bought a 2nd hand Setrab oil cooler that is has begun having its paint chip.

Is this oil cooler something I can repaint? Thinking high temp gloss black.

If it's a Setrab, it's already painted.

OP, I would just leave it. I think the stuff Setrab and others use is more thermally conductive than the typical hardware store paint. Might even be some sort of powdercoat.

If it's just a couple spots here & there, sure.

Yeah I was 80% leaning towards just leaving it, it’s mainly chipping on the sides anyways. It’ll probably take a beating when installed so I don’t wanna get too OCD about it.

Oh, I'd paint the sides all day.

I know some people do a “graphic” on coolers with a stencil. Is this pretty acceptable?

Yes, because it only ends up coating the edges of the fins. I'd try to go light with each pass to prevent it from running down the fins but I'm anal retentive about stupid theoretical details.
