Engine / Tune Issues

A year ago I blew my engine on the first pull on a base tune attempting to get a tune complete with Shiv on a stock engine with a Speed by Design Turbo Kit 500x. It simply over boosted and I didn't notice in time causing me to throw a rod. (my mistake + either a vac line or waste gate issue. Did a quick climb to 18 PSI.)

Took a year to get everything together but here I am trying to point the finger at a fuel issue or a base tune issue.

I have emailed Shiv but I am in a bind for time and need to fly or drive across the country.

I purchased MAP Built Short Block, Carrillo Pro H-Beam W/ CARR Bolt Upgrades, Manley 10:0:1. Still running the SBD 500x Turbo Kit and now added their Flex Fuel Kit.

My mechanic assures me everything is correctly installed and is blaming the tune. The car is running like dog shit throwing P0171, P219A, P119E.

I am probably just stuck waiting but just trying to make last minute plans to get my car across the country. Here is table from a short city drive... I cleared the errors prior to the drive.

PS. I was under the impression since only the compression ratio was the big thing changing the old base tune would work out just fine.

Thank you for any advice and knowledge thrown my way.

And there lies the issues with remote/road tuning.

You have spent good money on a build and supporting mods, now, it needs to go on a dyno with a "good" tuner and a "good" management system.

My advice is get something like ECUTEK or a stand alone.

Put the car on a trailer to get it to the shop.

Even a built motor will lunch itself quickly with a poor tune.

This is where dynos and pro tuners earn their money, safety safety safety

Make sure you get tune with overboost protection via map sensor

Tgose coses are fueling codes , lean

Make sure tune is matched to injectors if injectors changed

Check the DI compiter is firmly bolted to engine will all mounting bolts thats its only earth.

Check intake and exhaust leaks andcfuel pressure

At idle you should show about 0.4 bar or -9 psi with engine running if no leaks

Got two more error codes before starting it up this morning.

P2196 O2 Sensor Signal Biased/Stuck Rich (Bank 1 Sensor 1) Code

P015A O2 Sensor Delayed Response - Rich to Lean (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

The mechanic said he hit it originally with the smoke system so he is 99% sure there’s no leak to any of the common spots and he just thinks it’s a bad injector or bad / dirty sensor at this point.

Bad O2 Sensor fixed 99% of the issues

Still getting one though:

P0441 Code - Toyota
Evaporative Emission Control (EVAP) System Incorrect Purge Flow

Gonna check the Vacuum lines again and make sure they were clamped etc. Seems I need the hands of a child or need to pull the ac...
