Why do people put LS1 engines in RX7? Why do people put small block V8s in Miatas? Some people just want to try something different.

Yeah, look at D1 & Formula D. They have em. It's pretty common swap for AE86

IDK, why ppl do swap in general? Maybe useless for some, but it's their dream for some.

Wow, negative Nancy much? Engine swaps make complete sense if you want something that isn't available in the factory car. Sometimes it's a more torquey motor other's it's something with more potential. Sometimes people even swap to get a more efficient motor such as Diesel swaps etc.

Are you saying that all engine swaps are useless? It's usually cheaper/better than buying a new(er) car so

what you are getting at.

why? swap a F20, F22, 13B, SR20DET,RB26DETT,2JZGTE, 7mgte, 3sgte on a AE86 cuz they can. personally I dont like it for me AE86 should only get a 4AG(Z)E 16V or 20V, I guess I'm a purist but I dont really care what others do to their car.
