Kite Festival week Aug 20-26
Long Beach, WA down on the north side of the Columbia River.
If you're local, it's a great day trip with huge kite displays all week. Most of the motels are booked a year in advance, so not a lot of accommodation overnight. Good excuse to go for a drive though.
