Catted header. Not much gains. Even with a custom tune. Why not go catless?

Legal reasons. The cops in my area are the biggest tightwads on Earth that look for the smallest reason(s) to pull someone over. If they get a whiff of my exhaust they'd probably impound my car and hit me with a huge fine. I removed the cat from my 944 and the difference in smell was quite noticeable, but luckily it's registered as historic so it doesn't matter. Yes, that car is 30 years older than my FR-S and probably doesn't burn gasoline as cleanly, but I'd rather play it safe.

Sure, I could run a catted front pipe, but I just installed my HKS front pipe (no cat) about 8 hours ago and haven't even started my car with it yet. Ditching that to go with a catted front pipe would have been kind of a waste IMO.
