2015 FRS Keyless Entry Not Functioning
Hello,
Thanks in advance for any help. I spent an hour searching and haven't found a solution to my problem. The buttons to unlock the doors and trunk on my key fob no longer work on my FRS. I also tried my spare key fob which has never been used, same problem. I opened the car door manually with the physical key and the car starts up and runs just fine. No hesitation. 3 year warranty ran out a few days ago... Anyone had a similar issue and know the solution? Only mod that could be related is the OFT, which was tuned about two months ago and car has been fine since then. Thanks!

May be a silly question, but have you tried changing the battery? Might be it's just ran out of juice, and the spare key could run into the same problem even if it's just been sitting for a few years/

True, the spare key drains just as quickly, the keys continuously transmit. |

I'm ah feared you're gonna be embarrassed (but, you will be happy) when you put new batteries in your fobs.

OFT doesn't mess with the BCM/BCU so it wouldn't effect the keys. Make sure you replaced the batteries in the key fob first. Otherwise you'll need to get techstream and/or go to a dealer and see whether they can diagnose why its not acting on a signal it receives but the transponder works find and disables the immobilizer to start the car.

Well thanks for the suggestion guys. You were right. Replacing the batteries in the key fobs was the answer. I really thought the key which was never used would have outlasted the one used daily but I was wrong.
Easy fix, a good day.

Usually the first sign something is amiss with the fobs' battery is the gradual reduction in distance to lock/unlock the doors. Once you need to be within a few feet I change the batteries on both.
