Possible Clutch Issues

So I installed my own clutch, and I feel I did a good job. I followed the instructions to a t and watched multiple videos to prep. It was fairly easy, just a lot of screws and a crazy job on jack stands without a transmission jack, lol.

Anyways, one thing I have noticed is that sometimes it feels like as I pull it from the gear it seems like it was trying to pop out anyways, like it comes out too quickly and easily sometimes, and it feels like something drops. I keep getting the feeling like screws are loose at the top of the trans and its tilting back and forth. I know this isn't the case, just trying to explain what it feels like.

Sometimes it is really hard to shift into first. I have to kind momentum it to second then to first and then it's fine.

I also have very little play from stationary to launching/moving. It feels like a couple inches if that. I am not sure if I did something wrong, or if I could adjust something to make my shifter feel like it belongs in the gear(s) instead of like its falling (literally) out of the gear and that my pedal has a normal amount of play/distance to back plate.

I've been driving it for maybe a year now with it, and it works fine, it just has always felt not so great.

I have adjusted the pedal play from the switch, but this doesn't give me any more distance between where pedal rests and the back plate.
I removed the clutch pedal retention spring (idk if that's the name of it)
I have adjusted the plate at the base of the shifter, and it always felt fine, and it feels more like its the clutch/trans causing the weirdness.

It is an ACT stage 2 clutch rated for I think 380 whp. I can get the model number if it helps.
I have a knock off short throw shifter (it felt identical to the OEM besides some shorter shifts so idw blame the knock off). I also have the Whiteline shift bushing and it helped tremendously before the clutch upgrade.

I hope that's not too much gibberish.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Shift into first - you have to drive slow enough or revmatch.
Little play - as in little dead travel from disengaged to clutch bite point? Try adjusting clutch pedal. While stock dead travel might be excessive, but for some safeguard / clutch drag prevention i'd leave some dead travel in. There are two things to adjust - pedal itself, and then switch according to new pedal position.
