Dempz - 13’ FR-S OEM+ Build
Hey guy! Since I’m new I’ll include a mini introduction before I get into my plans with my car. I travel home to Parrish, Florida off and on to see my family, however I’m currently living near Jacksonville, North Carolina. Back home I have a 97’ BMW Z3 in which I’ve done lots of modifications too and it’s currently on its third engine. I’m part of a Tampa Bimmer if you’ve seen the car and recognize it. I’ll make sure to include a picture down below. But onto why I joined this forum board. I joined a couple years back because I fell in love with the platform. Small, fun, rear wheel drive car, hence the Z3. I really wanted one and was close to getting on and an S2K, but financially I just didn’t want to make the decision. Here I am in 2018, finally purchased a 2013 Scion FR-S with 29,000 miles on it and I couldn’t be happier.
Plans for Scion. Turbo, rocket bunney, and extra staggered wheels. Nope! It’s a more standard approach to make it OEM+ looking. Just some ideas like aftermarket headers and tune to eliminate the torque/horsepower dip around 3rd gear. Lots of cosmetic upgrades and interior upgrades. Maybe eventually new wheels. I’ll be honest this isn’t probably the most exciting build, nor will it happen very quickly. This is more just for me to log my build and if I entertain someone then by all means! ![]()

Seeing as Scion "got the hammer" and I think the Toyota emblem looks better I got some new badges for my car both front and back in black. They stand out nice and have only one complaint with the back one showing the insert holes because the prongs did not line up properly. It is a minor blemish, but overall the black Toyota emblems definitely add a nice touch. I also changed the wheel caps to the 86 ones and the piston 86 emblems on the side to black ones as well. Just some minor cosmetics. I changed the daytime running lights to OLM 5700k ones which look much better. I had bought LED fog lights but I accidentally purchased ones for Spyder fog lights not OEM ones. Besides switching the High beams to LEDs and getting new fog lights the outside is pretty much done for awhile. Wheels, tires, and suspension will all come at once. I'm looking at potentially doing the Tomei UEL headers but my Z3 crapped out and is in the shop so modifications will be at a halt for now.
