Talking Slim down for ..car gains?

If you go to the gym and lose 30 lbs, how much hp/torque does that add to your car? :P

Your acceleration will be faster, but your torque at the wheels will average 0.8 ft-lb less in 2nd due to the increase in inertial resistance. At least according to the estimates I plugged in to my calculator. Need to get some numbers off my car still...

Before I race I take some laxatives. I need every ounce to win a race.

We have here a sand that kids use for playing. It is called spielsand. Try to load 4 packs of this in the trunk of any car and see what will happen. I did this last weekend in my Forester.

If you remote control the car then you can cancel out your entire bodyweight.

I've lost 40 lbs and my laps worsen from 1:08.7s to barely breaking 1:10's

but I also switched from RE71R to RS4s

every 10lbs you lose usually equates to roughly the same performance as a 1hp gain.

I've always heard 7lb,,, but close enough either way. 3-4 HP for 30 lb

Depends on how much percent of the total car weight that amounts to, and the power to weight ratio.

FRS: 2750lb+200lb driver and 200chp. P/W=0.0677966

Gain of 1hp: P/W=0.0681356

New Total weight needed for 1hp gain equivalent performance (P/W):
P/(P/W)=200/0.0681356=2935lb.

2935lb-2750lb-200lb= -15lb

Tldr, on our car the magic number is approximately 15 lb per hp performance gain as measured by p/w.

Now, is that a good measurement of performance, ? Acceleration is a better measurement, but that needs more maths and I already told you all the answer to that lol.
