Stock or JZ?

So, finding a forum on the new ft86 10 minutes before I go to work, I would like to ask yall a question. Would you rather keep the factory engine, or go with toyotas classic powerhouses the 1JZ or 2JZ.

JZ engines are old and heavy. I think with the exception of another boxer lump, pretty much any engine swap would ruin all the hard work Toyota and Subaru have put into this car's handling.

With the JZ in particular its a cast block which would be way too heavy to properly use in the FT86.

You'd be much better of just buying the turbo model ft86 (if they produce one or a upgrade kit to fit to the N/A) or swapping in the Impreza Turbo lump.

The only benefit i can see in having something like a 1JZ/2JZ is the torque....but torque of that scale would be wasted on a car like this as its too light. You'd struggle to get any power down as there just wont be enough weight over the rear axel.

2.5ltr Impreza STI lump would be the biggest engine i would ever consider putting into this car.

^do agree w ya there

2.5L H4 Turbo is way enough power for this car. If that's not enough, then go get H6, which can get 240bhp~1200bhp

Y'all have no imagination. This car deserves a Vedeneyev M-14P radial engine!

Never thought about that, where you got those figures from anyway? I'm kinda hooked on supras, which is why I asked the question, to all the car nerds wanting to ban me.
