which front pipe

So I have a JDL UEL header, stock front pipe and Q300 exhaust. My commute is about 78 miles round trip each day. Any load or uphill and I get drone.

I was thinking about the hooker catted with helmholzt res or maybe the JDL catted with a res.

Any thoughts

I doubt anything is going to be quieter than the stock FP

The Nameless over/front pipe has a cat, a resonator, and a helmholtz chamber. Sound like a drone killer to me, but I do not have any first hand experience.

HKS double res, little louder/smelly from no cat, but less drone from two resonators. Also can free up a couple horses from no cat.

I think the drone you're getting is from UEL headers. The way to get rid of that is to put the stock headers back on as you're exhaust isn't going to get much quieter bar putting the stock catback on

The muffler packing material in the Q300 has been known to break up over time..
Eventually it doesn't even muffle the sound anymore, or the sound gets raspier.
So putting your stock cat back on in this instance might actually help if your Q300 has degraded significantly.

Go for broke and order the HKS front pipe that comes with their R-Spec header/ frontpipe combo. I did it and it's the best decision I've ever made in terms of an exhaust.

btw I'm kidding as it's stupidly expensive if you're only getting the package for the FP.

1320 makes a dual resonated front pipe for under $200. I'd try it over the hks unit as I've heard the HKS breaking at the welds.
