Pioneer AVH-3300NEX head unit? - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

Does anyone have the Pioneer 3300 motorized Single Din Screen head unit in their FRS or BRZ? I want to know how they like it and they had any issues with the AC vents above the headunit and if they would get in the way of the motorized screen? Always wanted a motorized screen in my car.

If I could be blunt, why get a motorized single-din radio when the radio location is double-din height? Like you said, it's going to have issues with the A/C vents both in blocking the air and also keeping the screen tilted slightly down rather than the natural slightly-up orientation of a regular headunit.

Only way I can think to make this make sense is to install a single-din kit upside down so the pocket is above the radio, that way when the screen is extended it covers the stock location without interfering with the vents or dash above it. Then again, you pretty much have a double-din at that point again and might as well take advantage of that.
