Sup dudes! Ive been reading forums for a long time, but this will be my first post here.
I currently have an Mxp Comp Rs catback exhaust on my brz, and it is extrmely deep and smooth, which is fantastic, but I now want it to sound throatier and more aggresive. Im planning to get a Mxp catless frontpipe, but I am just wandering, will the catback/catless frontpipe make my car too raspy and ricy? I was just looking for a bit more growl. Thanks! |

At least a resonator. If not a high flow cat and resonator. I hear that particular exhaust gets real raspy real quick.

If you go with a catless and unresonated FP, it's going to be VERY loud and aggressive.
It sounds like you are only looking to slightly increase the volume, in which case I would go with a resonated, dual resonated, or catted FP. Also looking into Motiv's FP offerings, their pipes are of the highest quality available, imo.

I'm also wondering what would be best for my setup of catless header + resonated catback. Don't really want to fork out $200 more for an extra cat, but will if its the best option for keeping sound closer or slightly less than what I currently have, not louder.
If I had to guess, I think the sound levels are in the following rank from quietest to loudest: - 2.?" stock (cat + muffler) - quietest - 2.5" dual resonated fp - quiet - 2.5" high flow catted fp - loud - 2.5" single resonated fp - louder - 2.5" catless fp - LOUDEST Header gets rid of drone for sure and replaces it with rumble. Cats and resonators get rid of rasp.
