Dry grip + Wet fun

I did my best to search for this, but it doesn't seem there is a specific topic targeting what I am looking for.

Some backstory: I live in Washington state and it's true, it rains here a lot. I currently run MPSS during the summer and Blizzaks for the winter. I am starting to get into tracking, thus appreciate a tire that can provide decent grip combined with durability. I'm no pro or worrying about track times just yet, so tires similar to MPSS work just fine for me.

Here's where I'm at: I remember when I first got the car with the stock wheels and tires how much fun it was in the wet. With proper throttle application, the rear end could slip in what I felt was a very controlled manner, and skids could be maintained without much work. I slapped some MPSS on due to the great reviews it has received and the added grip over stock for back-road driving plus track days has been a welcomed benefit. But I have found that even in the rain the MPSS provide really good traction, and make you really have to work to get some good skids going. This hasn't bothered me until I just put my winter Blizzaks on and have been doing lots of driving in the rain. The progressive "slipperiness" of the Blizzaks reminds me of the stock tires and how fun it is to just apply a little more throttle and have the back end slightly squirming from side to side.

What I'm looking for: with all that being said, I was hoping to turn to the vast knowledge in this forum for a solid recommendation for a tire. Ideally, I am looking for a summer tire that provides great dry traction with good treadwear - I have found plenty of recommendations that satisfy that need. Where it gets tricky is the wet performance characteristics. I don't want to panic with the tire when driven in wet so decent wet traction is still needed. However, I am wondering if there is anything out there that rides the border well between providing safe amount of grip while allowing me to easily break loose when desired.

Obligatory annotation: I do not condone driving recklessly on the streets. I am not trying to drift every corner, but sometimes having the back end get a little squirmy can be a lot of fun, and I feel improves my car handling skills. There's a place and time, and I do my best to keep that sort of driving to a skid pad.

TIA!
