Maybe Future BRZ Owner?
What's up guys, as you can tell I'm brand spanking new to the forums, just want to introduce myself and maybe get some opinions.
Here's a little backstory about me, I currently own a 2007 STi, bought right off the showroom floor with 9 miles in 06? I think, anyway. I quickly modded her up to Stage II, and have since put ~45,000 miles on it. I love it, and she is my baby, nothing can beat the raw power of an STi, but I am slowly falling out of the whole "go-fast" mentality, and I think it's time for a change. This is where the BRZ comes into play. I've been following the BRZ/FR-S for quite awhile now, and I'm pretty sure I'm willing to trade my STi in and pickup a BRZ. I was just hoping y'all could give me some personal stories, be it horror stories, love stories, whatever. I realize coming here I'm going to get a biased response...but I'm okay with that. Oh, and does the gas mileage really get what it claims to get? So yeah, I look forward to meeting all of y'all, and hopefully I can become a fellow FT86 owner! |

Daily driving is pretty easy to get ~30 mpg. I love the car but it is slow, so make sure you are OK with a downgrade in power.Sure there are a few things that are off, some dash speaker grill don't fit 100%, door panel rattle a bit with certain bass. Other things people are nit picky about that isn't really a problem such as notchy gear box when cold. Having owned mine 2000 miles knowing what I know about it now, I'd still buy it.
Can't wait for some FI in the future. |

I appreciate the fast response, and yeah the power downgrade is pretty intense...but in all honestly, I have a 115WHP motorcycle for my speed needs, so I feel I'd be fine getting rid of the STi.
Also with the nit-picky stuff, again...STi. :P The dash doesn't fit right, the exhaust rattles, noises everywhere. Seems like the BRZ has it good! Haha. |
