Junkyard motor in a clean title frs.

Hey guys curious if anyone help with this issue. I have 2014 monogram frs . I bought from a Toyota dealership in 2016 with 28,000 on it and it now has 50,000. I went for check up because I discover an oil leak. As the dealship told me what's wrong with it the told me the motor and came out and been replaced with a junkyard Motor (which had no clue about). Since it's a junkyard motor it can't be cover under warranty. But what I don't get is why would they but a junkyard motor when was still under warranty? And my question is can I build a case to get a new engine or my money back. Any help would great pretty upset because now I have turbo just sitting in my room smh.

Questions:

* what warranty came with the car when you bought it .. ??

* are you dealing with the same dealership that you bought the car from ..??

* was the engine swapped before the dealership got the car to sell to you ...... or was it swapped out while the dealership held the title .. ??

* what is the nature of the oil leak ..??

Come back.

Was it a CPO purchase or just used? If CPO most Subaru dealers sell them with a Gold level warranty which is 7/100. This means the drivetrain should be warrantied for 7 years or 100k miles from the first sale date to the original owner. If they did not disclose the fact that a used motor had been put in the car at the time of purchase many states have disclosure laws that you can fall back on that may protect you. Explore your options before getting too frustrated.

Just the normal factory warranty. The problem is the never disclose to me that it was a used engine from a different car. Its different one I'll be contacting the other one tomorrow. Honestly I have no clue when the swapped happen hopefully when I get paperwork it will tell me. It was timing cover leak nothing serious but the dealership wants me to 1250 to get it fix without the warranty.
On the subject if CPO I have to check if it was. I'm pretty it is but I'll double check.

Sucks, but its pretty common with these cars.

Did they tell you how they 100% know it is a junkyard replacement motor?

Well, it would seem to me, that if the dealership gave the car a warranty, it should cover the engine that was in the car when it was warranted ......

That's the premise I would work from.

If it was a Certified Pre Owned sale/purchase Subaru usually provides a 7/100 warranty. If you bought it used not CPO you're going to be out of pocket for the repair.
