Metalized Windscreen

Hi Guys,

I will be gettng mine 86 just before summer (hopefully), it gets quite hot where I live.
I am thinking about putting in a clear metalized windscreen film.
From my research, metalized film should help with reducing UV and heat getting into the car.
Everyone have any experience with this?

I heard there are some modern cars which has metalized windscreen already. Does 86?

You may want to look into Llumar AIR 80 film. For all intents and purposes its clear (slight bluish color) but blocks out significant UV and heat.

Go for ceramic. You'll get comparable heat and UV reduction without any electronic interference.

I believe metalized film blocks or interferes with cell phone and gps signals. You can find non-metalized film that blocks uv and heat in various shades. I'm looking at getting 3M Crystalline.

The first thing I'm doing as soon as my BRZ arrives is getting ceramic 35% tint on the sides and back and a clear ceramic tint for the front to block heat and uv. ^_^ DO IT!

I'm interested in getting the ceramic on the windshield, but where I live you have inspection and registration stickers on the lower left corner. How do people deal with that? Do you cut out a section of the tint film so you can leave those exposed? Seems like that would be visible.

I have the Llumar Air Blue all around. To an untrained eye to it doesn't really look tinted.
