Car has been at the dealership for a month

I took my car to the dealership for a bad synchros and 1 month later and still no fix, and to make it all worst someone hits it while it's parked there. Every time I call they tell me that they still don't know if they'll replace the whole transmission or just the synchros, what do I do?

Take it to another dealer but remember to double de-clutch.. Have they given you a rental to keep you moving?

Seems like you don't like the car anyway. Now it's been damaged. Plenty of nice cars in the world. Fix the car and move on.

Is it still under warranty? Check your state's lemon laws. In California 30 cumulative days in for service within the first 18 months 18k miles is automatically a replacement, and the law makes it zero cost, the manufacturer pays your lawyer.

Oh, if you owe more on it than it's worth ....... just walk away from it ....... tell the lien holder ....... you just don't like the car anymore .......

It has the extended warranty. It's 30 days within the first year/24k miles here in NJ, I'll be contacting a lawyer tomorrow, they've had the car for more than 90 days in the 11 months I've had it, crazy.

Take the loss and trade the sucker in for something else.

Have you spoke directly with Toyota yet or just the dealer? If not call Toyota customer service and tell them your story.

^This.

Unless you aren't under the factory warranty. You mentioned an extended warranty. The hold up could be the warranty company if that's the case. I worked in a dealership years ago and saw the aftermarket warranty companies spend more than it would have cost to just fix the car just to beat the customer out of the claim.

Good luck though.

After one week I'll be coming into the shop every day and raising hell. Either have them fix is or set it on fire and get another car. That's my thoughts

The only reason I recommend talking to a lawyer first is the manufacturer, without using a lawyer, will impose substantial "depreciations" to a buyback. Those fees go way down with legal representation. He can turn right around and replace it with another of the same car, but I personally would be pretty reticent to take the original car back after that service experience. On a long job the techs might be losing money depending on the pay schedule there so... who knows. It's usually worth a 10 minute consult with a lawyer.

Just the dealer, every time I call they say they still don't know if the whole transmission will be replaced or just the synchros but they've been telling me this for the last 3 weeks.
