What do you think of this deal?

Limited BRZ Auto - $28,595
Destination fee - $810 (NYC)
Chromo fenders - $119
Chromo gas cap - $99

Total $29,623
no hidden fees + TTL
ETA Sep/Oct
CASH payout
$1,000 deposit NON-REFUNDABLE

This isn't official yet since salesman's boss wants to be sure that I'm ordering before giving me the ok. Just wanted to see what others thought about this before deciding since deposit is non refundable.

Seems like its more or less MSRP, which i think its pretty typical unless you are a repeat buyer from that dealer. IMO its not horrible, but not amazing. If you have a garage id recommend getting the homelink mirror. Dealers really shouldn't be doing a non-refundable deposit but if you have your mind made up its a moot point. When is the ETA?

@hyper4mance, yeah i know what you mean. I've pretty much set my mind to get this car but I heard sometimes dealers do some bs when after the car arrives, the car got installed with some other stuff and they have to increase the price which sorta forces me to go along with it. At least if it's refundable I can just get my money back and go to another dealer. He said Sep-Oct (latest) 2012, but nothings for sure.

The non-refundable deposit makes me wonder. I'd get everything in writing on what you'll be paying before financing (if you're doing that) so when the day comes to pick up the car, there isn't something added out of no where.

And I'd take off the chrome gas cap, but that's me.

Heuberger Subaru in Colorado is also asking for a $1K non-refundable deposit. Anyone have experience with them?

@Jayde and turboowned, yeah after doing some research it seems like the 'chrome' fenders/gas cap are just stickers. I think I'll save the $220 for gas money

@djmallu, DGM is the color. I didn't know they had an option for tint, you how much did they charge you for that?

Tint was 300 for 20%. Its more than getting done anywhere else.

Is that SoA or SDC? At least as far as SoA goes, if you order a car now, you won't be seeing it this year. When I changed my color in June, the delivery date was bumped to January.

I purchased my BRZ from them. Came in with the port options they said it would and they didn't add anything else. They also sold it to me at the price they said they would too. I think this is the best dealership experience I have had so far.

They say it's non-refundable but my sales guy told me if you don't want the car, they won't force you to purchase it and will refund your money.

I just placed my order with Heuberger too. And though they said it was a non-refundable deposit, I asked them to add this condition/stipulation before I gave them a deposit, and they agreed:

Seller expects car to be delivered in 2-3 months. If for whatever reason the car is not delivered within 6 months, Buyer has the option to receive a full refund of the deposit and cancel the order.

gives them some leeway, but keeps things reasonable for both sides...

@Subie, i'm not too sure, but i think i read somewhere that NY gets their cars from SDC
@PMok, i thought of that too after i left the dealer, I plan to do the same thing but i'm giving them up to end of Oct since salesman 'claims' the latest car would arrive is Oct because 6 months seems a bit too long, like what if you found some other dealer selling it for the same price too but you're already binded to the contract
