I am a truck guy myself.. but I taught my girlfriend how to drive a manual car 4 years ago when we bought her Scion tC (so I get to have a little fun with it also). Well we have had our eye on the FRS/BRZ/GT86 concept for a while and decided a few weeks ago to go ahead and pull the trigger on one.
Long story short, we are picking up a red, manual FR-S today AND my new 2012 Tundra (traded in my Dodge). Ill post pics soon! |

I'm guessing you parted out that tC before trading it in? How much you get it for?

She is for sure. I am a gear head, so I am pumped about both of them, but she is not a patient person so even just the week and a half wait she had to take was torture for her (at least she makes it seem that way haha).
I have big plans in store for both of them, the truck is going to look very different by the time I am done. The FR-S on the other hand will have some more standard mods done.. intake, exhaust, sound system, etc. |

Selling the Hood today for $300 (I paid less than that buying it from a friend) Got 12K for her trade. 09 with 50k miles. IF she would have been active on the tC forums like I told her to - I might have parted it out more with the wheels and springs.. but she wasnt (hit while I am getting active with the FR-S early haha). First thing for her FR-S will be installing the Kenwood and sound system. Do they already have adapters for aftermarket H/Us? |

You won't be disappointed with the Tundra/FRS combo. Those are what I drive, and they are opposite in almost every aspect. Where one shines, the other fades. For example, the Tundra is fast off the line (5.7L engine), the FRS isn't. The FRS turns like a dream, the Tundra feels like a boat in a turn. The FRS is low, the Tundra sits high. The contrast is sufficiently extreme that whenever I switch from one to the other, I spend a couple blocks laughing out loud at the feel of the unaccustomed vehicle.

Thank you! I did all of the work myself aside from powder coating the rims.
I have more pics of it here: http://s188.photobucket.com/albums/z246/milkindamonkey/Scion/ some pics of the back, and page 2 shows the LED mod. I didnt take pictures of the H/U or sub installed because I knew I was going to put the stock stuff back in before selling it.. but the Kenwood fit perfectly in that car.. looked like a OEM upgrade. |
