Seems everyone wants to race me lately.

Seems everyone wants to race or drives faster next to me in my twin. Mini vans, VW boxes, Fiat Challengers and Chargers. Even had a guy about 80 years old in a Cadillac next to me at the front of the light floor it when the light turned this morning. I've always had guys wanting to drag race me in my Porsches, but never at the rate I've been experiencing lately in the twin.

As I've done for years, I ignore them. The car is not a drag racer, and I'm not beating my drivetrain for your entertainment.

Dude, all of those cars are faster than an 86. Tehy're not trying to race, you're trying to keep up. Do like I do, roll with it.

I had a guy in a UPS truck gun it against me at a light today. I didn't even entertain that, but usually I'll give it the juice if I'm the first car at a red light. It may not be a drag car but it doesn't have to be a boring car either, this car loves being in the upper RPM's.

My BRZ was out of commission for 2 months so I was driving less fast looking cars. Now that I'm back in it. Everyone is the same way around me. Like seriously. People squeal their tires from stop lights and in turns. I just facepalm. It's pretty hilarious. This almost never happened around me while I was in a 02 neon. Now it's erry day multiple times a day.

I have never noticed much different behaviour around me with this car. If anything most cars seem to stay further away than they ever did with my others.
Only had two guys ever seem to want to play and one of those was some guy on the highway that did a fly by in a BRZ.

I used to get every type out out there trying to light race me in my Cavalier Z24 but not much happening in the FRS. Maybe the red color and flame stickers on the back helped?
I'm always the first off of the light and by 55-60 I'm many car lengths ahead of everybody in the FRS and you'd think that would maybe entice some stop light bandits but nope...nothing.
I think a lot of people feel threatened by the car because it looks fast so they either try racing which is what seems the case here or in my case they just hang back and cower in the face of the mighty FA20.

I don't know, Tcoat. Even though you drive a sporty looking car, if I saw you and your bushy moustache, I'd just leave you alone. I bet if you were a punk looking college kid your tale might be different.

When I get an idiot trying to race, I like to pull up to the next red light and inch forward little by little, like I can't wait to go. He'll inch up too, afraid I'll get the jump on him. Then, when the light turns green and the other guy floors it, I take off really easy and just cruise along leisurely. That usually takes care of that problem.

I've been thinking about getting one of those custom tag holders with the message: "Not interested in your bullshit."

Yeah, I agree with others keeping distance. One reason I like the BRZ: It gets noticed, and thus people pay more attention to not running into the back of me. In some sort of interesting way, it's useful to be noticed.

It's always kids in base trim civics, cavaliers or sentras with fartcan exhausts that want to red light race me.

Instead of racing people, I have fun going into cloverleaf ramps at high rates of speed with idiots that are practically tailgating me. They think that because I am going fast that they can too until they find out the hard way that they are no match for an FR-S. Haven't seen one of them go in the ditch yet but there have been many close calls. They maintain a much larger distance behind me after learning their lesson, especially the SUVs.
