Identifying the socket for tail light side markers
So I just got my new tail lights and YAY, they come with sockets for some beautiful red side markers!
![]() Problem is, over here in Europe, the wiring harnesses don't feature said side marker. This I can not accept so I was looking for an upgrade: ![]() Pricing's all right, however shipping cost is NOT. Seriously, $37 for two is OK but a whopping $50 on top for shipping is a joke. Not requiring most of the actual harness, I was wondering if you guys could help me figure out the proper name of the socket. I'm sure I could buy them locally and splice them into my existing harness instead; being an absolute cretin when it comes to all this electrical magic I just can't seem to find out the proper socket name. Already tried fitting two old surplus USDM harnesses for my old Honda but they were slightly too large.

idk about the socket, I know the bulb is the same as the front side markers and the license plate lights. Im surprised the euro spec ones don't have this.. is the reflector still there in the housing, just no light?

I'm actually not surprised about this at all, there's hardly any car at all with rear side markers (permanently on when lights on, I suppose).
Those red plastic side inlays? Ours are silver/chrome - see my avatar. While one can see upon close observation that they're kinda "side marker ready", they don't have them. The socket itself is prepared but not milled so it's just a closed flat plastic surface where in the USDM version you got the socket. An educated guess is that the front side marker sockets may indeed be the same but given the relatively fragile metal clips there I'm reluctant to just remove them to try. There's gotta be a more academic solution.
