Towing with the FR-S

Has anyone put a small hitch on their FR-S or BRZ?.

I do track days with my motorcycle (Honda CBR600RR) I would like to be able to tow my 380 pound bike on my 300 pound trailer.

I know this weight is easily doable as my old 97 civic did it without much problem.

So - any one towing anything yet (race tires on a trailer to autoX)? if so - what hitch did you put on?

Curt hasn't made one yet, and there's no obvious bolt/weld point because of the muffler. I too am waiting for a class 1 hitch for a bike rack. Ideally I'd like the plug hidden behind the unused red light on the bottom.

I'd be interested in seeing possible stealth tow-hitches or stories of towing too.

I was planning to non-op my corolla and turn it into a track toy/project car but the BRZ owner's manual says to not use the BRZ to tow things...

Redneck ingenuity will find a way. I saw a guy with two canoes strapped to the top of his Corvette the other day.

clearly states in manual not to install tow hitches

even for bicycle racks

like, clearly, they have pictures and everything

so do at your own risk

http://www.tmfmotorsports.com/tmf_products

This is one that was made for Evo X - same deal, small tire trailers or bike racks. But because it's custom/low production it's expensive - 330+ship.

I'd still buy something like that for the FRS.

This sound like the guys on the vette forums that get upset when you install a hitch a Z06 to haul race tires to the track. I later used it to tow my shifter kart trailer. The world didn't end and I didn't destroy my car either.

To the OP, I won't be surprised that someone comes out with one that will work. If you do it right, and keep the load within reason, any car can tow without any serious damage

Most excellent, definitely appeals to the redneck in me. But, if I was going to use a Honda for towing, I'd want want of these rigs:
