Velcro that works with trunk liner carpet?

Don't know if this is the right place for this discussion, and my search function doesn't want to work so I apologize if this has already been talked. If so, please point me in the right direction with a link.

My car came with the optional carpet liner that sits on top of the normal liner that covers the spare and tools. I've noticed that, while most Velcro/hook&pyle works okay on the normal liner, it doesn't hook very well at all on the carpet liner. I have a bag with a quart of oil in it that has some vlecro attachments on its back to keep it in place while driving. It kinda grabs the carpet, but barely, and it's definitely not secure. I think more than anything else the weight of the quart and what little bite the hooks get is what's keeping it from sliding around.

So, does anyone know if there is a different type of hook that works better with this carpet? I was also considering snagging some of those VW trunk Legos to use for organizing and keeping stuff from moving around, but those don't grab the carpet either. And yes, I know one solution would be to remove the carpet, but I would prefer to keep it there and use it if possible. If there is a different type out there that works I'd want to get some and redo the hooks on the bag and the trunk Legos so I can use them effectively.

Thanks in advance.

I'd think fitting cargo net, for stuff to not slide around trunk. Some items i prefer to bring around on rear seats.
