Theoretical Spring Rate Discussion

I know someone (not me) who in into the herrafrush lyfe.

He thinks putting 34k (1,900lb/in) springs on our car would be ok for a daily.
"They re-valved it for 34k, and they're swift springs, so should be fine."

I may not have screwed with physics since high school, but this screams failure waiting to happen to me.

Those spring rates on our car would essentially be like welding the suspension solid right?

Am I wrong?
Am I right?

What if anything will break on his car?
Our roads suck.

The more in depth the responses the better, I'm hoping to get him to read this.

The bit about "they're Swift springs, so should be fine" got me.

You're right, it's not a great idea. I'd expect bent camber plates, maybe mushrooming strut towers.

I'm just giving you a hard time, man.

That's an insanely stiff spring rate for DD, my opinion.

This is why people are advised against buying stanced cars, a suspension that was designed to compress up to 2" or more to soak up bumps in the road will now be moving a max of 0.5" that energy still has to go somewhere and it'll go into the sheetmetal which is now more flexible than the suspension.
