Tein Flex Z Preload Help!
I just picked up some Tein flex z coilovers from another member on the forum. I'm going to be install them this weekend. I wanted to know if anyone had the instruction manual. In particular I'm wondering how to adjust the preload to the factory settings or check it?
Thanks for the help! |

They recommend to turn the preload until it's "tight" then one more turn. Ymmv

The thread pitch on the collars is 1.5 and the recommended preload is about 2mm? So, with the collar tightened right up against the spring, another 1 and 1/3rd turn will get you about 2mm of preload. Check preload again after a week or so then do the process again.

Thanks for the help so far everyone! Should I worry about adjusting anything with the camber plate or just the let the alignment shop handle that? I'm also going to install some lower control arms so any tips on setting camber for those? (lower controls will the whiteline lcas not the spc re-branded ones but the original beefy ones they made in goldish color pictured below)

Also I'll be running the stock wheels/tires so how low can I go with tein flex z coils and lcas before needing adjustable front end links and rear toe arms?

Be extra careful driving it to the shop, you may have made the car a bit unpredictable if you aren't close enough. Quote:
idk about the front swaybar endlinks but I don't see the point in slamming the car so someone else will have to tell you. |

Okay thanks for the response ill be sure to measure both. I'll be on stock tires/wheels and I'm looking to drop the car to the factory height of 1.3" that the tein's come preset with. I would like to have -1.5 degrees of camber up front and -1.0 in the back (or should I go more i'll just be DDing for now). Also does anyone have the instruction manual for the tein flex z that shows the factory ride height adjustment? (Like those A,B,C,D positions and measurements). I cleaned the threads and doing so moved the locking collars and base to various positions.

I can't seem to find manuals on Tein's US website. Can you give a link?

Thanks for that info I did actually come across that while browsing the site. I'm really looking for the diagram that has the factory collar measurements like the one pictured below(this is for a totally random car have no idea!). If anyone who has the manual will you please snap a pic of those diagrams or list the data out. If it is available online will someone please point in the right direction. I'm looking to install Saturday!

I'm going to take a pic of the coilovers with a drawn diagram showing the measurements between collars. Please still post the diagram and table if anyone out there has it. |
