Velox Side Splitter Ground Clearance

I'm pretty interested in the Velox Side Splitters (https://www.velox-motorsports.com/pr...d-a9fdecb50419), but I'm a bit hesitant to pull the trigger because I'm not sure how much they will impact ground clearance for street driving.

For those of you who have installed the Velox Side Splitters, do you have any issues during road use? Is there sufficient ground clearance when the splitters are adjusted to their least aggressive setting that there isn't much impact on street driving?

The side splitter portion doesn't look any lower than the Driveway Labs, and they aren't much, if any lower than the pinch seam under the rocker. The Velox skirt portion appears it will be be an issue on the street, during driveway ingress/egress, thus the reason they say it will break off/away.

The skirts can be left off if you find they hit on a lot of things. The assembly will still benefit the aero of the car like a standard side splitter without the skirt.

Maybe we should have just left off the skirts altogether . I wanted to offer something neat no one else does but it seems to turn off potential customers because they're worried about the skirt hitting.

I hit our car on very few locations. Very high speed bumps or convex outlets of parking lots are the largest culprits.

Thanks for the info! I haven't read the install guide in detail, but is it possible to install the skirts (e.g. for a track day) without having to first take the splitter off?

Also, out of curiosity, what were the trade offs between mounting to the pinch weld (as you guys decided to do) and mounting to the body along the strip next to the pinch weld (as other side splitters tend to do)?

I am wondering because I am trying to replace my current side splitters (which were installed by the previous owner but likely incorrectly and have become loose) and am exploring the feasibility of either reusing the holes on the bottom of the body or plugging them and installing splitters that are mounted elsewhere.

It wouldn't be super easy in my opinion but could be done in a few hours. They adjust easy but full removal and install would be time-consuming I think.

I personally didn't like how a lot of units use sheet metal screws into the side skirt area of the car. It isn't a structural part of the car and sheet metal screws don't belong on a car in my opinion. It makes the assembly a lot more complex and expensive but it was worth it to us .

Maybe "soft rubber" with easier to bend thicker metallic tin backing for mounting and allowing to bend on hit?

We're looking into different materials. I'm not great with plastic or rubber, I'm more a metal guy myself, so sourcing something that works in this application is not exactly straight forward. Maybe something like this but a little thicker? Just a thought. Many Miata guys use it:
