Scion FR-S Subaru BRZ Dual Tip Muffler Delete Vs Nameless Brand
This is my first post...... With the endless pages to look through I wasn't able to come across the difference between a Berk Muffler and a nameless muffler. The main differences is the price, but do they sound the same is the big question. PLM Scion FR-S Subaru BRZ Dual Tip Muffler Delete GT86 FT86 FA20 FRS..... ![]() Berk Technology Scion FR-S Subaru BRZ Dual Tip Muffler Delete...... ![]() Has anyone had any experience with nameless brands, the price is $100 cheaper? |

They are both a straight bit of pipe I can't see how they would sound any different.

They are both basically just a pipe with tips welded on, so there won't be much different in sound. I bought a used Berk version and it's great.
I'd just go with the cheaper version. Even used, if you can find one.

Yeah pretty much the same thing. PLM rips off other companies popular designs and sells them for less. I think it was their header that Nameless actually bought and it fit into their jig perfectly, and after going through records they concluded that PLM had actually bought a header or two from them to rip off.
That sucks. Support it if you want :/

Just ordered a Private label muffler delete off eBay, its estimated delivery is 25th of March or a bit longer so looking forward to getting it and slapping it on turning the key and letting it RIP!

Let IT RIP!!!
Just installed my Private Label Muffler Delete, wow a huge improvement over the OEM Muffler. The only small complaint is the the drone at high RPM, it can be corrected by shifting into 5th and 6th gear and most likely a good idea when your close to peoples houses as it might get on peoples nurves.
Very happy for spending $400 Australian Dollars, compared to the $500 Australian Dollars on a Berk Muffler Delete. Video doesn't do justice of the low rumble Last edited by FRS2017; 03-30-2017 at 06:39 AM. Reason: adding video |

Well, after some more testing Ive found that I have had to put a small muffler on the the exhaust because I am getting the looks from everyone lol and it would help with the noise in the cabin.
O well you live and learn. |

Video of PLM Muffler Sound
Has a nice rumble, but this without the added small hot dog muffler I added recently- I had to shut it up for my driving experience and not to draw too much attention to myself.

Recent hotdog muffler install with New Video
This my recent hotdog muffler with sound in much better quality as shown with a HD camera. The sound still got a nice rumble, I also installed some heat insulation foil tape just above the hotdog muffler to dampen the sound in the cabin.
I will most likely use this heat insulation foil for damping the sound in the doors when I install better door speakers.
