Do you think I will need LCAs?
So the setup Im planning on going with in the rear are 18x9.5+43 with a 265mm tire, and then going with a 5-10mm spacer to get that perfect look im going for (which would be just a touch of poke). My only other option would be a +30 offset, but I think that would give me way more poke than Im going for.
But I do not like lowering the car to the point where the tire starts to disappear under the fender, I just personally dont like the look. I like when the fender is roughly 1/4-1/2 inch above the tire, so I cant imagine having to lower the car that much (car is in storage, so I cant measure the factory gap for now). Plus with the little bit of negative camber I will get from the drop, do you think LCA's would be necessary? And yes I will have coilovers, and I will most likely roll the fenders to be on the safe side. Thanks in advance! |

You very likely will. Have you reviewed the wheel directory, meaty tire thread, and aggressive wheel thread to see what would be necessary to fit them in as far as lowering and camber goes?
Wheel Directory Meaty Tire Thread Aggressive Wheel Thread Here is a set of 18x9.5 +38 (+43 offset and 5mm spacer = +38) so you can see how it would fit. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10406 Also, 5-10mm spacers will require new wheel lugs and slip-on spacers, so look into what's required to replace the rear lugs. There are DIY threads around here on it. |

I dont like that look on his rears, definitely looks angled inward. Assuming hes on stock suspension, maybe thats why?
Now this one http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12927 is absolutely perfect in my eyes. Virtually identical wheel selection, and lowered exactly where I would want it, and he said he has no camber kit. So maybe spacers wont be needed, or at most a 3-5mm spacer. Though I do realize that every car can be a little different. |

I think +43 looks fine on its own, to be honest.
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48897 It also depends on what camber you end up with after lowering. It may be about where you want it, or it may be way off. Or one wheel ends up good but the other one is off. After lowering my car, both rear wheels were at -2.0, so I lucked out and didn't need an LCA. If one had been -2.4 and the other -1.5, I'd have needed LCAs to adjust them. I'm not trying to fit a 265 close to the fender without rubbing though, so my needs are different. 3mm spacers are the max you should go on the OEM lugs. More than that and you risk not having enough threads engaged to hold the wheel securely. 12-15mm is the minimum you should go on bolt-on spacers. Everything in between will require new lugs and slip-on spacers. |
