Rexing V1 dashcam question
Just picked one of these up, updated the firmware so it now has the parking monitor and motion sensor functions, then installed it and have been playing with it a few days. Works great, especially considering the price.
I've searched the rexingusa site (pretty much worthless) and elsewhere for answers to the following questions to no avail, so I figured I'd try here. For anyone else who has one of these or a clone... 1. Does this have a lithium ion battery or a capacitor? The literature says that the cam is intended to be used only while connected to a power source and that the internal battery is for emergencies and is only good for a few minutes. Yet... read on.... 2. Two days ago I parked in a bad part of town and didn't want to leave the dashcam in the car, so I turned it off via the power button and put it in my pocket. After returning home that night and perusing the recorded segments, I found that it had recorded almost an hour worth of video of the inside of my pocket and audio while I was walking around town and having dinner. I can't remember if I had the parking monitor and motion sensing functions enabled, but I think I did. Do they work competely independent of the power button, i.e., if they're enabled, there's no real way to completely power off the device? 3. What is the difference between the "motion sensor" and "Parking monitor" functions? 4. The "gravity sensor" automatically locks recordings when an unusual physical event (of varying severity based upon your sensitivity setting) occurs. I figured at least that much out between the manual and experience. Anyone? Thanks.. Barry |

the parking sensor usually has different sensitivity options just like the g-sensor so when it feels any impact it will turn the camera on and begin recording for X number of minutes depending on how they programmed it or until the battery dies the motion sensor I believe turns on the camera and begins recording when it senses an object move in front of its field of view such as a car or person passing by in front of your car all these would drain the battery if the car is turned off and the camera is not connected to a constant power source hope this helps you out somewhat |
