Possible new FR-S owner. Please look

Hey guys I'm a technician at a Toyota dealership. I'm really interested in this FR-S but don't know much about these aftermarket turbo kits. This guy traded this thing in after doing a bunch of work to it because his wife got pregnant. It only has 11k miles. I'm wondering if any of you could identify this turbo kit or maybe a good way to tell if this thing was tuned and reliable or not. Thanks

Hello, Lolephant and welcome to the forum.......

I can't "see" a turbo on that machine ...........

The price looks a bit high.

Ask "Jane" on their web site about the turbo ......

yeah i know stock is the best i work on cars for a living haha. just seemed like a really good deal just kinda sketchy i guess because i have no idea what the guy did. i know some of these turbo kits are like $6,000. only has 11k miles on it so not like he had too much time to beat the crap out of it. oh well just seemed like a good deal but rolling the dice none the less.

Can't help with the make but...

Wrap it up nice so it doesn't heat soak

Suck in ALL the hot air

It does not appear to be one of the bigger name ones but I am far from an expert on the subject. Do you know what tuning method was used? Any other mods?

Looks like some of the piping may be ptuning's kit. At least he has a vent gauge installed to monitor things...

Oh ...... daaaaa.......scroll down ...... got it.....

I can't help you.

I know nothing about turbos ........ however, after reading about turbo'd FR-Ss on this forum ....... I'd never buy a used FR-S that had a turbocharger.

Ya I was thinking the same thing. If it came into the dealer like that I wouldn't touch it. If from sitting on the lot that is different.

Not sure what kit that is, but the red piping looks like a 'ptuning' kit. That said, its hard to tell what tuning software was used just by looking at it. If its open sourced (which I doubt) you could get someone to retune it for you. If its a locked tune (my guess) its not quite so simple.
