Superior Shine - Opti-Guard - 86

Here is another 86 from today,

Paintwork was in great condition however the car had been driven in an industrial area for a few weeks so was pretty filthy.

Process was: Wash, Clay, Blown Dry to ensure no water drips from panel gaps etc, Alcohol Wipe to remove residues (polish/wax/polymers etc), Opti-Guard (Opti-Coat) applied.

Exhaust polished with Bowdens Own Metal Polish, Tyres Dressed with Optimum Opti-Bond which does not fling on to the fresh Opti-Coat like other tyre shines.

Another another one from the other day..

Plenty more to come..

Great job Scott,

Although it doesn't seem to have needed alot of correction, preping a car like this PROPERLY is alot more work.

Shows the extra level of detail also over some detailers who try to only do brand new cars.

Regards,

Mitch

Not wrong, two Black 86's we did today both needed at least a Stage One Machine Polish and they were only a week old.

Simply because the dealership didn't prepare the paint to a level that would be acceptable to apply a coating on, there was swirl marks through both vehicles.

I have only come across one black 86 so far that had no swirls, however i would still recommend a light machine polish as this will further enhance the overall finish.

The dealership also use polish/waxes with fillers that mask the swirl marks for a few weeks so it looks great when you pick the car up, after a wash and the decontamination process these fillers wash out and the swirl marks become visible.

Here's a couple of photos from the two black 86's from today, unfortunately i didn't get any direct sun shots as there was no sun where i was working and i couldn't get the fine swirls to show up on the camera with the LED lighting.

After doing this opticoat, does it stop smudge marks or fingerprints ? I've noticed with black that is the biggest problem. Apart from dust
