18x9.5 +35 square...? The right tire....

First timer here

I have 18x9.5 +35 square wheels and trying to decide what size tire is best for stock suspension, I am not willing to do fender work. Eventually I will be purchasing coil-overs in the upcoming months.

I was thinking 235 40 all around.

IDK, i was also thinking about staggering the tires with 265 35 in the rear with 225 40 in the front...But! i'm pushing more towards the 235 40 all around....
Also i hear stuff about the speedometer having problems with bigger tires? What's that all about?

Help me decide! I want functionality AND looks, and when i do eventually get coil-overs i want a decent drop. what do you guys think?

245 35 is probably what you want for right now. Shouldn't go too wide on stock suspension or you'll have rubbing issues.

I would advise against a staggered set up, especially with that much of a difference (265 vs 225). 225's on a 9.5 is going to be super stretched.

You want the diameter/circumference of your new setup to be close to stock if you want your speedo to be accurate.

What do I think? 9.5 wide wheels are overkill for our cars. Too much useless weight. I won't put anything smaller than a 255 tire on 9.5 wheel. I'll put a 265+ on it.
That's what I think. All show, no go right? Park hard bro.

It really depends on your purpose. Don't stagger them if you want it to drive properly. It will make the car understeer even at moderate speeds. I run 18x9.5 +38 with a 265 slick on the race car, but that car is double the stock HP. They fit but I had to pull the rear fenders even with 3+ degrees of camber. They do fit on a bone stock suspension but they'll stick way out. I ran mine on a stock BRZ for a TT event.

This car is my daily, that's IT.

Thanks for all the input guys, I'm definitely not going to stagger my tires, nor am i going to stretch my tires, atleast to the extent of the 225.

Nice setup btw GEN!

Would 245 40 rub on stock susp?
