bought a used car with this headunit

hi everyone

2 days ago i signed papers for a white frs 2013 and just waiting for it to be detailed, buffed and what not (should come tomorrow or friday) that came with this radio:



does anyone have any information on this headunit? is it good? does it have navigation system? (even though i prefer google maps) is it worth getting another headunit or is this headunit good for audiophiles?

and the main question is, i got a dual 12 inch mtx terminator subwoofer i pulled out of my sentra SER Spec V and i loveee that thing. my question is, are there RCA inputs in the back where i can plug them in or do i have to tap into the pigtail?.

your help is greatly appreciated

I have no first hand experience with that head unit but the consensus on here is that it is crap and the worst ever put in these cars. Guys have tried hard to get them better but not many claimed any luck. No nav. You may want too shop around.

Wow I swear you pay extra for that thing too.. it can't be that bad.. my Sentra had kickers all around and my sub with a kenwood head unit... when I tried listening to the frs sound system with my phone... it was the ok but I guess my bar was set too high considering I've spent over 800 on my sound system.

Like I said I have never heard that version but it has a bad rep. The one I have is supposedly way better and it is no great shakes either.

Wow surprised to hear all the negative remarks about this head unit. You all must not have experienced the BRZ head units. I had this unit in my tC and absolutely loved it. In short it is a no frills head unit. Sure it doesn't do nav but it is easy to use, the UI is intuitive and what I absolutely loved about it was how quick and responsive it was overall. When you start the car it comes on almost instantly as opposed to the 45 second start up time my BRZ needs to get going with music or a call. I'll tell you what, if you hate it I will gladly take it off your hands!

I have one in the for sale section. I was just pissed I paid 800 bucks for it and it doesn't have stand alone nav. You have to hook up your phone and use that terrible app. The blue tooth and phone functions worked awesome tho. No biggie tho. You don't need a radio in a race car anyway.

I have that one, it admittedly was very good for my use, even has subwoofer output and control. Main reason I upgraded was for android auto support.

That one has preouts for subwoofer, with built in control. it does not have android auto, it was created before android auto was a thing, however I did hook up a sony android phone once and the phone told the head unit it was a usb device and played music. was pretty cool. Never got my LG to do that before I replaced the unit. I am running a 4100NEX now.
