Autocross at Shannonville Nelson Circuit on Saturday, October 8th

There is some autocross going on at Shannonville Motorsports Park being hosted by the Driver Dynamics Car Crew on the Nelson Circuit on Saturday, Oct 8th. Autocross at Shannonville is always great but we don't usually get a lot of people showing up so I'm just doing my part to try getting word out and increase attendance. It would also be great to have some other twins out there to compete with!

Here is the original message that was forwarded to me:

We, the Car Crew will be hosting an auto slalom on the Nelson Track on SATURDAY the 8th of October. You should find the course both challenging and entertaining and will be a great way to end your Solo II activities for this season

-Registration from 0830 to 0930 AM (form attached)
-Driver's Meeting at 0945 AM
-First car on course at 1000AM
-Final runs of the day by approx. 3 PM
-Car Classes as per separate attachment
-Stock, Super Stock, Street Prepared and Modified
-Entry Fee of $45
-Helmets required

As there will be drag racing on the Fabi Circuit all day, food and drinks will be available at the Fabi Canteen.

Regarding classing, don't wouldn't worry about it because it's all just for fun. For reference, specific classing rules are available here:

Basically, a 100% stock twin will fall under Stock class. Lightly modified twins (200tw tires, suspension, exhaust) are Super Stock and heavily modified cars (FI, aero, rcomps/slicks, weight reduction) are Street Prepared. Modified is for anything beyond that like engine swaps or gutted/caged race cars.

Event is tomorrow morning, forecast is calling for rain but I'm still going, it's a good opportunity to practice car control. Anyone interested in coming, just bring yourself, your car, $45 and a helmet.

Event went well. I think the rain scared everyone off though because other than myself, there were 4 WRX's there and that was it. Knowing it was going to rain, I went on my street tires thinking they're better than my worn out Rivals in the wet although I have my doubts about that after yesterday. The rain just started to fall during my first run and I got to go early and put down a 94 second run. The track was totally slick by my next run and I ran a 120 seconds. I managed to bring my time down to 99 seconds on my last run but still not even close to my first run dry time. I'll get some videos uploaded later.
