Where can I get a space saver wheel from?

Hey guys,

I've been to a few car audio joints and have come to the conclusion that if I want a decent system and as much boot space as possible, I need to get rid of the full size spare and replace it with a space saver.

So....do I need a specific one for the 86 or can I go somewhere like Bob Jane and pick one up?

Cheers

best off hitting the import compliancer shops and maybe wreckers?

I'm probably going to change mine too. How hard would it be to get the japanses/american boot floor? Is it just carpet, or is it a solid floor?

Just get that, saves weight too.
also means you can use the spare wheel well for the sub and keep the centre of gravity down.

i dont have a problem with these^^^ but be aware they will stuff a tyre that may be fixable and if you have a large hole it won't help

i personally would not use such a thing on say a trip from Syd. to Canberra for example

for city use and where you have roadside service you dont need a spare tyre or 'fix a flat' can at all

Why not mount the sub INSIDE the spare wheel, as they do with the European JBL Premium Audio System

Interesting! I'm having trouble imagining how that would work. Have you got a photo lying around?

The diagram was taken from this accessory installation manual. Couldn't find a photo of the sub sorry.

How come you guys from Oz get the full size spares while we Yanks get the crappy space savers? At least we get a spare, unlike Bimmer owners.

We loose a good amount of boot space, and the flat boot floor for that full size. I'd much prefer a space saver.

How odd! I'd have to question how good the output is with these kinds of subs.

Also, Ryda sucks. I've had very unpleasant experiences with them.
