Horrible sound while decreasing speed in gear (no clutch)

My husband and I just bought a 2013 frs 2 weeks ago from a car lot. It drove like a gem when we first got it all the way up until 2 days ago when this horrible noise started. The noise is coming from somewhere under the car (can't really distinguish if it's from the dif or the trans). While driving above 20mph and letting off the accelerator the noise starts. Ithe sounds like something is loose, shaking, and grinding. If I push the clutch in or take it out of gear the noise starts. When it first started 2 days ago it wasn't very loud now it is horrifically loud and driving my husband crazy! I have gone through a bunch of the forums whIle waiting for permission to post on here and I've seen a few threads but no real answers. Anyone ever experienced this or have any ideas to point me in the right direction. Oh the car has 30000 miles mostly stock besides exhaust, coil overs, light weight pulleys, and a cold air intake. To my knowledge thats everything. Help please!

They called me and said they could look at it today, but would have to go from there. I'll try to take a video on the way!

But it doesn't make any noise at all when the clutch is engaged. The way I understood a bad throw out bearing it would make the noise when the clutch was engaged not disengaged.

Opposite.

I agree that I think it's a throw out bearing.

If the dealership will do it, I vote have them replace the whole clutch kit, including flywheel while they are in there. If you're taking it apart you may as well depending on condition. If they'll comp a part of an Exedy stage 1 kit, it's a nice unit and makes the pedal firmer.

If it is the TOB or some other part of the clutch, it makes me wonder what other mods were done to the car before it was traded in?

Did you see the carfax and maintenance records?

my car is making the same noise, it started happening after my transmission was replaced under warranty for the 5th gear grind, I've been driving it like this for 8k miles now. (im at 32k). I've just been to lazy and didnt feel like putting my stock exhaust back on and take it to the dealer.

They said the entire rear end is gone, but they are going to fix it and cover everything besides a rental.
