Shift knob that won't burn my hand?
I don't really want or need a shift knob but the OEM one is pissing me off. The stupid shift pattern sticker sticks up if I tighten the knob. Then when I shift it kind of sticks to my hand a bit and feels like it is going to come off. If I loosen the knob so it doesn't stick up then the knob is loose and on quick shifts it turns a little.
At one point I had adjusted it just right but I removed it doing some interior work and since I can't get it just right again.

I like delrin and copolymer knobs. There are also some nice hybrids these days. Raceseng and WC Lathewerks are what comes to mind. I've run Killer B and the OEM Subaru Duracon knobs in the past that I love. I have a MTEC Delrin knob that I like in the BRZ at the moment.

I really like my Billet Pro Shop series 300 knob. The Delrin covering has been great in the summer. With the car sitting in the sun on a 100+ degree day the knob was quite a bit more comfortable than the steering wheel.

put a wristband or a sock over the shift knob when it sits in the sun or get one of those bubbly knobs that look like a phallic sex toy...turns all the chicks on

I've got a Team Voodoo Shift Knob (spun aluminum) that I painted with a few thick layers of Duplicolor Ceramic Engine Paint . It probably doesn't make a huge difference, but I don't have any issues holding it unless it's above 95 degrees and has been sitting in direct sunlight. When it gets to that point, I just throw on my Mechanix Fastfits for a few minutes and I'm good. Plus, with the gloves on it feels like racecar, always a bonus.
![]() Also, because it's countersunk, it sits a bit lower than the stock shift knob and "shortens" the throws ever so much. Can't wait to try it with a short shifter or the TRD quickshifter.

The Beatrush Duracons are perfect for this. Will not get hot or cold due to the material! This one is designed specifically for the FRS/BRZ to accommodate a reverse lock out.

That's the first shift knob I bought. Yes putting a sock or a old beanie cap keeps it cool. I bought a Raceseng shift knob from last years Black Friday sale.

I use a Nismo GT500 shift knob for the R34 Skyline GTR, and it is the best feeling knob I have ever felt...with the exception of my own penis. LOL
