Hks V3 or SBD Turbo kit

Hey how are you ft86 club members ,

So first off I just want to say I've been a NA guy all my life from my first civic to Integra to RSX and e46m3 which I still love and have still but kept in the garage hehe. Anyways I just picked up a 2016 BRZ couple months ago, and I want you guys input on wether I should get the HKS V3 or SBD Turbo kit they are literally the same price like 3800 because it comes with the tune. However aside all that I know turbo means more maintenance and more risk of blowing out rings rods etc..
I have eh somewhat knowledge of building motors just haven't had a chance to work on a boxer style motor. I stop turning wrenches after the Eco down fall now I work for hankook tires. Hehe
So what I'm asking is if you guys think hks is the way to go please tell me the reason or if you suggest a different charger kit because I do plan to upgrade u know ? Or if you guys think the SBD is better please tell me why. Anyways hope you and your family have a blessed awesome weekend !!

Honestly I just want a 280+ whp daily

So far ..here's the little stuff I have
Carbing catch can
DW 770cc injectors
DW 65c Fuel Pump
Hks 76mm hi power exhaust
ACE headers
Exedy Hyper Clutch
Fortune 500 v5 Swift
Every Whiteline bushings
Hardrace LCA
Spl front LCA
Spl toe arm
Beatrush front strut bar
Beatrush front sway ? Depends on the Ace header fitment.
Beatrush rear sway
PWJDM strut mount bars gold

You're running 770cc injectors naturally aspirated? Or you have in them anticipation of going FI?

It all depends on the powerband you want. If you like the factory power delivery but just want more go with a blower.

I have the SBD Turbo Kit.

Granted I've only had it on my car for a little over a week at this point, but I have about 1,000 miles on it and a drift day where I beat on it hard so far with no issues.

The SBD Kit is nice, its a quality setup. The install is fairly straight forward, honestly the hardest part of the entire thing is bolting the turbo to the manifold and the downpipe to the turbo. It's a tight fit, and requires some finagling to do.
Install took about 10 hours all said and done, it probably would take me 3-4 hours less having learned some tricks along the way after installing it. Thats also with a few breaks in there to relax a bit.

The power feels nice, builds boost quickly and pulls all the way to redline.

Chris (owner of SBD) is a great guy, never fails to respond and is generally pretty quick with any questions. Seems genuinely enthusiastic with some convos I've had with him about my plans etc.

I can't speak personally about the Supercharger from HKS, I've read some who have it and are extremely happy. IF I recall most of the centrifugal chargers have a progressive powerband as it goes up in the RPM's versus a lot of the turbo graphs ive seen where they have a nice flat torque curve.

I debated going to supercharger route because heat was a huge concern for me, however I had no issues with heat beating on my car at the track drifting. However I also have an oil cooler, and tried to do my best to heat wrap everythign I could.

Just finished my HKS v3 very recently and it is paired with ACE header, the version where 2-1 merge is latest. The exhaust note is very unique, I think it has something to do with the way exhaust is merging at 2-1, it has a weird rasp sound at certain rpm, do you have this side effect?

Honestly, it feels like a turbo on the higher rpm since the compressor side is pretty much the same to a turbo compressor, but lower end of rpm you will find torque is hard to come by. I suppose the closest thing would be something to your RSX in terms of power delivery and the way power comes on is not exactly abrupt. I feel if the car had another 1500rpms, it would be so much more fun with supercharger. Overall I do not regret going with HKS, but if you want something that moderately pushes you into your seat during hard acceleration, turbo is definitely the way to go.

The biggest reason I did not go with turbo is that I find most turbo locations is not ideal, and it gets way too warm under the engine bay. HKS supercharger makes the car faster in a very balanced way.
