Open Flash Tablet FROZEN !

My OFT screen occasionally freezes while connected to the OBD while monitoring IAM etc. every time I drive the car, several times per driving session.
I have checked the obd port and connections and all pins seem fine, and no cable trauma takes place prior to the screen freeze.

It seems to have started this summer and happens more often in very hot weather, and the tablet is very hot to the touch .

When I unplug AT THE TABLET and plug the cable back in, it works fine until the next freeze. Same if I unplug and reconnect at the OBD.
Its an old tablet (the one w/o the white twin picture) updated successfully.

Since SHIV is usually in an unobtanium state (understandably so), I post to see if anyone else has had this issue ? Any ideas ?

When oft freezes does screen go white ? or stays normal display but just freezes unresponsive ?

if you have ol picture on screen you need to manually update template file

Whatever is displayed still shows, but frozen.
When manually updated to the latest template file, and newest tunes, the white twin does NOT show.
The first original OFT tablet page when it first came out still shows. The new tunes are loaded and I can use them just fine.
Car works fine, but for frozen screen.

Any one else have similar ??

sounds like actual hardware problem with tablet itself. double check the cable and obd port connections though.

Thanx ,
sounds like the most likely cause since ALL connections triple checked, work fine, no intermittent disconnects, but a frozen screen after at least 10 minutes (sometimes longer).

Bad EEPROM maybe ? overheating ? loose chip ? a NORTH KOREAN transistor instead of a SOUTH ?

Hoping someone else had the issue and solved it.
