Difference in Eibach prokit springs??

Hi

I know the Eibach Pro-Kit springs are the same for the FR-S and BRZ in the US (Same product code) but are they different to the ones for the 86 for JDM, AUS spec or EURO spec cars??
I contacted Eibach australia and I've been told that the prokit springs released in USDM are different to the world market? I smell lies.. does anyone know anything about this??

Typically this is the case. At Eibach North America we do all of our designing and testing around USDM cars and produce the springs here for our market.

Eibach Germany also does their own testing, designing and production for European and Asian market cars. I believe all of the kits for these markets have to be TUV certified so the specs and part numbers will vary between our two markets. In some small cases we do share the same spring application.

I haven't seen any specs from Germany on the GT86 kits yet but I'll shoot them an email to see what their plans are.

Thanks for your info Tony, can you please also find out if the kits are interchangeable, meaning US spec prokits can fit on jdm/aus spec cars and vice versa?

From the forums, I know the 86, FR-S, and BRZ all have diff spring rates and if the BRZ (US spec) and the FR-S (US spec) can use the same US spec prokits, I'm guessing they'll fit the 86 here in Aus or for the fact every spec in the world?

Bit off topic but can you point me to where you got that info? Wanting to know if the source also talks about damping differences and if there are differences between different market 86s/GT86s.
And I had no idea the FR-S front and rear were so unbalanced compared to the 86 - I assumed they were the same. Now I feel like I have a car made for dorifto kids.
Oh well, that can be changed easily.

People need to understand that the motion ratio (leverage) of the rear suspension basically 'softens' the rear rate.

It is not unbalanced.

But the FR-S front:rear ratio is quite different from the 86. So assuming one of them is balanced, the other is unbalanced... or should we say "less balanced."

We'll know sooner or later but this information has to be passed down from the other Eibach groups once fitment is confirmed. ie; Eibach Germany, Eibach Austrailia, Eibach Japan, etc. I'll post up once I know for sure.

You’re obviously referring to shop sites in the US, those kits have been developed by Eibach in the US tuned for their local market.
Eibach Germany is developing a range to suite the worldwide market which is far better suited to Australia, this range may also include the Bilstein Dampers all made in Germany.

At this stage the development of the of the German produced Pro Kit to suite the Toyota 86 is incomplete, this kit will be released soon. There may be a significant difference between the US and German Kits, as we have experienced this on a lot of other models and makes. We understand that the 86 built in Japan for Australia is different to the North America delivered vehicles, we are therefore waiting till the data is available to compare.
