PermaPlate?

So i managed to negotiate the option and got my dealership to apply it for free as well as giving me the warranty for free. I'm not 100% what this is however in my mind any protection is good (i hope?).

Have any of you guys used this product? If so do you guys know how to apply the renewer? I assume its a time taking process that i have to do by hand and only after i've washed my car? Just want to make sure i dont mess up when it comes time to add the coat back on. I think its every 6 months?

Thanks

I'm an amateur detailer (in that I just spend way too much on car products). Never heard of this stuff before. From a quick google it just looks like some sort of sealant that they apply. If that is the case, its protection is minimal. I doubt it offers any protection against rock chips or scratches.

If that's the sort of protection you're looking for, you need to look into a clear bra (3m or Xpel) or at least a ceramic coating like Ceramic Pro 9H. Both should be installed by a professional.

Elbow greasing with paste wax offers moire protection. If you do get it from dealer, and decide to resale to dealer or private party, you can throw that in...but best thing is to get front and sides wrapped by clear plastic.

Its basically a legal scam. Its more bad than good [in terms of $$$]. They spray your interior and exterior with a shiny 'wet' looking paste/spray.

Not sure what it is in exact name. Why bad? Because they overcharge you to make $$$ w/o telling you. To me that's your fault and ignorance if you fall for it...but at the same time a deceitful practice by the stealerships.

They charge from $800 to $3500. If you dont need it, dont get it.... btw no one needs it. You can apply layers of protection on your own with x<$200 products.

GG

p.s. again, if free, why not? eh? Just take pics if no swirls before...just in case!

p.p.s. Its basically CLOUD INSURANCE~!~!!
