Best BMW Ever
Which is the best BMW ever, M1 vs. E30 M3?
[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fv_ofel_44o"]BEST BMW EVER - Which BMW is the 'Ultimate Driving Machine'? | Autocar - YouTube[/ame] I haven't driven either the M1 or E30 M3, but personally I have a soft spot for the E36 M3 having ridden in a few at the track. Great combination of handling, light(ish) weight, seating position/feedback, and that amazing sounding I6. The Euro-spec 321 hp E36 M3 would have made an interesting comparison in the video. Also having watched the video, it's interesting how certain BMW's (E30 M3, 3.0 CSL, etc.) have that timeless quality of looking fantastic even today.

Not E36 M3, the 3rd car should be a Z1.

Haha that's shall we say... interesting Kind of reminds me of BMW's i cars, almost experimental in purpose.

lolwut?
In no way was the Z8 a supercar, even at the time. Here's Car and Driver's article on it coming out, titling it a 'sports car' http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...ad-test-review And here it is compared to the drop top DB7 and 360: http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...mparison-tests With the following quote about the 3: Quote:
Edit: To be on topic, what strikes be about BMW is that they don't seem to lose the spirit in the older cars even as practicality is added. From the 2002 wagon to the M5 wagon, another pair of doors and seats wasn't a death sentence for performance. I've got a hankering for an e36 sedan in techno violet at the moment... |

I was young when I saw it and never had interest in it. So the $135,000 price tag made me think it was some super car. Ofcourse I was about 6 at the time.
