Desktop help

When I come to pc/electrical stuff, I'm pretty newb... so if any pc expert here can help me out here.

So I want to buy new desktop... but I don't know which is good and what not. Only requests are
  1. price range $0~$700
  2. can play 720p to 1080p movies without problem (so good graphic card?)
  3. have wireless
  4. HDD 320gb~1tb
  5. fast enough to do multi task without problem (I open 5~6 website, 2~3 folders, & 2~3 programs at same time).
Maybe I'm requesting too much? So all the pc expert, help me out please~

So budget is 700 including tax?

Using it to watch movies? Games? Photoshop?

Can try to build you one. Lol

<-- Nerd. :/

Edit: Custom built without OS or pre-made with all the fixes? Looking for a high end laptop that can act as a desktop or full out desktop with tower and its fixes. :P And what parts do you currently have. ;p

(I built my gaming pc. Dropped $3k on it. Lol)

You're not requesting enough...

You could get a computer to do that for less than $500... The monitor, however, is where you will be spending money to get the 1080p.

You can actually snag a nice 1080p 23'' monitor for $120. Asus (I have 3). Its all about timing.

It looks ugly, sorry. I'd send you a link to the NewEgg wish list, but if I make it a wish list I can't add the combo items.

prefer after tax $700... but I can work around it as long is it meet my wants

I'll be using it mainly for watching, webbing, & photoshopping. I never got into pc games, so highly doubt I'll be using for games.

Custom built is something I thought of too... cuz one of my local friend was saying he can build me one... but I'm not sure it's cheaper to go that way or safer to go already made well known company one. Like I said, I'm newb to these kind of thing, so IDK. What's the Pro & Con?

I'll be using my tv as monitor most of the time, so that's not a problem for me.

also, I looked at the list. I kinda get what they are...

Lol sorry I work in IT so I get carried away.

Two sites for you if you want to build it and buy each piece:
http://www.newegg.com/
http://www.tigerdirect.com/

You can look up the parts I mentioned on newegg, it's where I pulled them from (and my favorite computer parts website).

Giccin was right, monitors also aren't that expensive. The one I found online was for $105 and it was a 1080p 21.5" Take that out of the list and that computer is like $478.

Each part has at least a one year warranty too if not more, so as far as "being safe" it's about the same, unless you go for (example) Dell's 4 year warranty type thing. Have your local friend compare what I came up with, maybe they can build it for you (or you can too, it's fun!).

Games are really the only intensive thing you have to worry about. Ironically the videocard in my quick list is the most expensive thing, and maybe overkill lol.

I figure though with 4 GB of RAM and a dual core processor, and a 500 GB hard drive, that computer wouldn't be too bad. You could get 8 GB of ram for $60 more, add in a few more hard drives for space, or get a bigger one.

I didn't add in the basic things like a keyboard, mouse, or CD-Drive. Those are all really cheap you could get them at your local store or online for like <$30

Ah, I also didn't include an operating system. You wouldn't happen to be a student, would you?

I've always wonder the processor's GHz thing. Some may have high memory (like you listed 4gb), but they have low GHz (yours was 2.93GHz). Is it really matter to have high/low GHz?

Lets see if I can pull an i5 or i7. :P

As for the OS, if you have an old school ID you can probably head to your nearest JC and get a copy (for 10$) or sometimes free. :P Will be win 7 home edition that goes up to x32 I believe. O:

If you lived near either Xantonin or myself we could probably get you the os without a problem. :P

I made one. But theres a few mail in rebates you can use.

I didn't include keyboard+Mouse or speakers since I'm just assuming you have those on the current one you can strip. As for a monitor, you can hook that giant TV of yours and make it a monitor. :P Or Stick it in as your DVI. Current monitor is your VGA.

HDD: Western Digital 500GB 7200 rpm
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136073

CPU: Intel i5 processor
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115067

GFX Card: EVGA GeForce 9800 GT HDMI [Mail in Rebate -$30]
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130535

PS: Corsair 650w [Mail in rebate -$10]
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139005

RAM/Memory: 6GB (3x2)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145220

CD drive: Asus Black 24x dvd drive
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827135204

CPU Case: Thermaltake Midtower [Mail in Rebate -$5]
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811133094

Total: $667.92

And with the mail in rebates...
Total $622.92
With Utah Tax (Google 6.95%) Total: $666.21

I kind of went through it very quickly. If someone who won't mind checking if I calculated the voltage correctly... :P

And if everything works correctly. :P

Edit:
Also if you're REALLY patient and check up on this monitor
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824236059
you can get a really really good deal. I have 3 of these monitors and I got them for $100 when newegg had a sale. So if you really want a new monitor you'll have to camp their website for it. :P

Edit #2:
I was also assuming you were going to use your PS3 as a blueray player. :P
