Problem with writing roms from OFT to car!!

hey guys! I bought myself a used OFT and the previous guy had bought it for his Mx5, however I was able to read my stock ecu tune and copy the stock file. I used Open flash manager to load a OTS map from the OFT site (A00G) and when I went to write it, it came up with the error "ecu number mismatching, ecu write denied." what do I do??

that weird it seems to be saying the ecu vin number is now different from when the ecu was read.

the oft should show you a vin number in the display or in openflash manager check they match, check this matches your car vin.

also try writing back your stock tune from the slot labeled Original

assume your original rom calid was A00G ?

make sure you have selected vehicle type as toyota zn6

hi steve, the vin that comes up is the same as my vehicles vin, and when i try to write back the original rom it comes up with "the file selected is already in the ECU".

If this is any use, I first read the stock rom and was paranoid that it may corrupt somehow because i had opened the door various times during the reading process so I decided to erase the tablet using the OFM. I then proceeded to read the stock rom again with everything switched off(radio, lights etc) and everything was fine. I went to OFM and my stock rom says PRESENT in the download section however the information table above does not show me my CALID. I know its A00G because it was there when I first read the stock rom.

Also try updating to the latest template file here they don't seem to have in on website anymore, unzip it then apply it via open flash manager think it in the update tab

thanks steve, yeah I just downloaded the template and updated it to the OFT. I now have the 86 as the background instead of the mx5. I then went to the car and tried to write the stage 1 file and it said the same thing, would I need to read my stock rom again? I don't think I will be able to erase and try again because isn't there a limit of 3 erases? Sent them an email yesterday and still waiting for a response

thanks for the response steve. I bought it used so im not sure if its the old or newer tablet. If i was to erase and it was the last erase on the tablet and it locks up(or whatever it does on the final erase) how would i unlock it?

when you try and erase it in ofm it will say something like "erase count exceeded" tablet should still work in its current state.

You need to be connected to internet to erase.

The oft guys will need your oft serieal number to reset erase count on their servers.

thanks good to hear is all sorted,i would say having the mazda template file probably confused the oft when connected to an 86.

might be still worth asking the oft guys to reset erase count as you probably only have one left just advise them you switched from mazda to 86 and had a couple of problems.

its a good product rearly letting you switch between mazda 86 bmw and i suspect fiat abarth now
