CNT UEL Header Review

Hello everyone, I bit the bullet on purchasing the CNT UEL header 2 weeks ago, and can happily say that I’m very pleased with my buy! I’ve decided I would share my experience with it after owning it for a week now. When I was doing reviews and reading up on the forums I noticed there was much information but maybe one or two reviews about these headers. Basically going in without much info I decided I would give it a try. For ONLY 350$ shipped I could not complain at all. After only a few of days I received it, and couldn’t wait to install it. A pound opening the box I noticed it came with the header of course an also replacement gaskets which I thought was very convenient. The welds on the pipe seemed very well, I’m no expert on welding but nothing was bend and seem like a quality item. After about 4hrs later I had the header bolted up. This was my first time installing headers and defiantly recommend trying it yourself. I installed in on jack stands made it a little tight but defiantly doable, would be a lot easier and probably cut the time in half if you had a lift. Along with swapping out my header I went ahead and installed my Motiv overpipe to finish off my exhaust. They surprisingly lined up no problem. As well as reusing the 2 O2 sensors. Starting up the car for the first time was like waking up on Christmas, it was amazing! Defiantly get that genuine “Subie Rumble”.Shaved about 15lbs from the stock header to the CNT. Totally gives the car an aggressive but maintainable voice. Of course I had to take the car around the block to hear it fully, and was really impressed when I noticed the torque dip disappeared. The throttle response was a lot touchier and felt great driving. One thing that I was really worried about was it throwing a CEL, after a week of drive I haven’t experienced and issue with it. (knock on wood) if it happens to do so I planned on purchasing an OFT anyways to get the most HP I can out of my modifications.

Final thoughts:
If you’re in the market for an UEL header I would defiantly recommend the CNT as a contender, especially against the other brands out there that are in the 600$+ range. For 350$ you really can’t beat the price. Ill keep everyone updated on my experience with the header and see if it throws a CEL , ect.

Any issues with fitment? Previous owners mentioned having some issues with getting it to slip on.

That looks like the V1, but I could be wrong.

I believe they looked the same from what Ive seen between V1 and V2. Just the collectors were different.
