I thought aluminum wasn't a very good exhaust material due to it not being able to handle high heat?

6063 Aluminum melts between 1140 - 1210 F. It is also very heat conductive. By the time the exhaust gasses reach that far downstream they're cool (relatively) enough so this isn't an issue
