Self-diagnostic busses? Specifically oil pressure?

I know it's old fashioned paranoia but right back to my ancient Celicas I've never had a car without oil pressure display, with the exception of my Honda.

Is there provision for oil pressure display/readings on the OBD-II bus in our cars? Is there a CANBus fitment that we can utilise? I was thinking about one of the various gauge solutions and whatnot, or if I'll have to somehow figure out how to utilise the internal wiring harnesses. I don't really want to dig through the dash to stick a wire.

I really don't believe the car actually knows the oil pressure. On the WRX and STi the oil pressure light is only a dummy light that comes on at like 5psi ie to late. If you want to monitor oil pressure you will probably have to get a gauge and use one of the oil galley plugs or something.

Yeah. Been eyeballing em. Might have to work my way backward through the wiring harnesses.
(IE; To use the existing wiring system)

My OBDII(Bluetooth + torque) reader reports that it has oil pressure readings, but I've never looked at them to determine accuracy. I can check tonight to see if it does.

A little off topic, but where is the ODB port? I can't seem to find it.

As far as I can see Oil pressure/temp is not available on the OBDII bus. It is accessible through the OBDII port but on one of Toyota's proprietary busses you need TechStream or another speciality tool to view it.
